LF Conservation and Preservation

Education Film/DigitalMaker or FabricatorVisual Arts

Described by Grayson Perry as ‘a weirdly mystical science’, conservation slows down how quickly our shared heritage falls apart so we can all enjoy it for longer.

Conservators are a strange mix of artist, crafts person, scientist, historian, time traveller and contortionist.

I have conserved letters from the Duke of Wellington and Admiral Lord Nelson; the papers and scores of Benjamin Britten, Imogen Holst and Gustav Holst; the photographs of the artist Keith Vaughan; and the archive of the National Resource Centre for Dance.
