Dabbled in aerial skills and want to take your skills to the next level? Returning to aerial circus and need a refresher or want to explore a new aerial discipline?
This intermediate class is led by aerial performer, producer and teacher, Daisy Black of Gossamer Thread Circus. Daisy is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of aerial circus and has been involved with SeaChange for a number of years.

What techniques are taught in this class? Develop your technical ability and movement in silks, hoop, rope and trapeze. As a guide, you should be comfortable in the following skills:
On silks/rope: Inversions (straddle and pike) off the ground Climbs (French & Russian) Footlock Beginning of Catcher’s Lock On hoop/trapeze: Inversions (straddle and pike – pike from the top bar on the hoop) Mermaid Amazon Star on the bar Beginning of front balance
What skills are developed/improved? In this class you will develop your technical ability, improve your strength and flexibility, and broaden your repertoire of skills on the equipment including inversions, climbs and sequences and be introduced to drops.
How is a class structured/what do we do in a class? Class begins with a group warm-up to raise heart rate and engage muscles, followed by conditioning exercise tailored to aerial training.
After that you will move on to climbs, inversions & sequences on the equipment. We will usually look at two pieces of equipment each class and work towards learning a routine.
The class will end with a warm down & stretch.
Classes are limited to 10 people, so you’ll get plenty of time in the air!
Why would I come to this class? You’ve attended our Aerial Beginners, or other similar classes, and are looking to move to the next level or you are returning to aerial circus after a break.
What level is this class? Previous experience of basic aerial skills required. See above. You will require a reasonable level of fitness. 18 years+, no upper age limit.
What should I wear/bring to the class? Please wear clothes which are comfortable. Sportswear, ideally with covered legs and long sleeves. No footwear is required as barefoot is advised. No jewelry and long hair tied back. Bring a bottle of water.
