Details

As part of the nation’s favourite heritage festival, and to celebrate Drill House 150 – marking the 150th anniversary of our building, we’re opening up The Drill House. Join Great Yarmouth Heritage Guides and discover the fascinating history of this building.

This Grade II listed former military Drill Hall was the base for the 2nd Volunteer Battalion Norfolk Regiment and has been described by English Heritage as “one of the finest Drill Halls still standing”. Built in 1867, it has
housed concerts, marching bands and became a community sports hall.

Learn about the history and architectural features of the building. We’ll also be running decor-making and circus workshops or simply grab a cup of tea and a slice of cake and find out about the history of this great building.

Free, but booking recommended.
