SeaChange Arts is a registered charity. We work tirelessly throughout the year to secure funding to bring more cultural opportunities to the people of Great Yarmouth. We are committed to bringing dynamic, exciting opportunities for people to work alongside the best local, national and international artists and to make as much great art accessible to as many people as possible.
Our current funding focus is on three areas:
Our Community Programme…
The flagship of which is Drillaz, our circus school. Over three years, this programme has worked with more than 150 local children, aged 8-18yrs. Working alongside our professional tutors, the Drillaz participants report increased confidence, social skills and aspirations. Our aim is to secure the future of this programme and expand activities going forward.
The Drill House Capital project
SeaChange acquired the Drill House in 2012. In 2015, we received £1.5 million from Arts Council England to begin the work to re-develop the building as an international centre for circus and street arts. The first phase of this work is drawing to a close and has turned the main hall into a fit-for-purpose circus and street arts facility. Over the coming years, we need to expand facilities, develop the front of house, make repairs to the building’s roof and many other developments that will support the expansion of our work and contribute to the regeneration of this area of Great Yarmouth.
The Out There Festival
The Out There Festival has rapidly become one of the largest circus and street arts festivals in the country, renowned for its diverse and imaginative programme. Almost all of the shows are free. We need to develop alternate income streams for the festival to ensure that it remains that way. You can help by making a small donation at the festival when you visit.
