Stuff of Dreams is a rural touring theatre company that specialises in new writing based on East Anglian History. Founded in 2012 the company has created a body of work including ‘The Bricks of Burston’ about the Burston School Strike, ‘The Poisoners Pact’ recounting the events that led to the execution of the last two woman to be hung in Norfolk, Kat Frary and Frances Billings, who poisoned their victims by concealing arsenic in dumplings. The company went on to create ‘The Blacksmith who Chased the Moon’ a family friendly Christmas show set and performed in Halesworth based on Nikolai Gogol’s ‘The Night Before Christmas’, ‘Forgotten’, about the life of Suffolk poet George Crabbe and ‘Anglian Mist’ a fictional spy story set against the background of Cobra Mist a top secret radar project developed on Orford Ness in the 1960s. This was developed in partnership with the National Trust and performed on Orford Ness before t0uring the region. The company is currently developing several other productions for performance in 2018 and 2019. Notably ‘An Honest Gentleman’ about the Norfolk Highwayman Thomas Easter. In addition we are undertaking an outdoor tour of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to six venues this summer.
