Out There Festival logo

Friday 14 to Sunday 16 September

The Out There Festival is jam-packed full of breath-taking spectacle and quirky comedy, all woven through with world-class performance, family-friendly atmosphere and more than a fair dose of seaside silliness!  Regularly attracting more than 50,000 people, the festival blends iconic international acts and the finest UK performers with massive amounts of community participation, family fun and lots of hands-on things to do.

2018’s programme runs from Friday night to Sunday evening. During which you’ll witness edge-of-your-seat acrobatics, exploding kitchens, rambling explorers and time travelling disco divas. Performers from the UK, France, Belgium, Spain, Columbia, the Netherlands, Slovenia… and beyond come together to bring you around 100 hours of FREE performance in the streets, parks and open spaces of Great Yarmouth.

This year is Circus250, a fantastic national celebration of circus – 250 years since Philip Astley drew a circle in the ground on a patch of wasteland in London and filled it full of horses, acrobats and clowns, creating the first modern-day circus.

Great Yarmouth is proud to be one of six Cities of Circus which are the focal point of these celebrations. To mark it, we welcome the return of Générik Vapeur. This iconic French street arts company are back with a special anniversary edition of their explosive show, Bivouac – first performed here in 2010. In Bivoauc250 they’ll be collaborating with Gorilla Circus and 250 local people to produce a sprawling rock ‘n roll circus celebration across the streets of the town.

But all you need to know is Out There is just about the most amazing way to spend a day… and all for FREE!
