Volunteer

We’re looking to recruit a small, dedicated team of festival volunteers to support us with publicising the festival, stewarding, performance and show production.

We have a variety of roles that need support:


Performance Volunteer/ Generik Vapeur and Gorilla Circus

We need 12 strong dedicated individuals, capable of helping to push grand pianos at the Saturday night spectacular. Costumed role.

Must be available to attend evening workshops on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th and a dress rehearsal on Friday 13th Sept. Performance Saturday Evening 14th Sept.


Wardrobe/ Generik Vapeur and Gorilla Circus

Help dress up to 40 people for the Saturday Night Spectacular.


Performance Volunteer/ Generik Vapeur and Gorilla Circus

5 light bearers (preferably with stage lighting experience but not essential) to help light the way for performers and public. Costumed Role. Must be available to attend evening workshops on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th and a dress rehearsal on Friday 13th Sept. Performance Saturday Evening 14th Sept.


Performance Volunteer/ Congregation

We need 5 costumed guardians to join Ray Lee’s sound led performance voyage ‘Congregation’.

You will need to engage audiences, handing out mysterious silver spheres. Emitting ethereal sounds the spheres will lead people on a sonic voyage guided by sound alone to a final destination where the meeting of the spheres create a chiming pulsing web of electronic sound.

You will need to be able to attend a rehearsal/briefing on Friday 13th September 2019 and will be needed for both festival dates, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019.


Actual Reality Arcade

Come and experience the life sized interactive game zone for all ages. Inspired by classic arcade games we need assistance running the Actual Reality Arcade throughout the festival and help bring the games to life through interactive play and endless fun. If you can help others pilot a spaceship across the galaxy and shoot aliens in the space invaders gallery, tick this box.

You will need to be available for the whole weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019


Performance Volunteer/Dulce Duca

2/3 volunteers to help with props during the show, you will need to organise the audience and help tidy and clean the area after the performance. You will need to be available for both Saturday and Sunday’s performances.


Performance Volunteer/Firma Kodde

We need one 18-25 year old lady and one strong man. Must be available for performances on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th 2019.


Performance Volunteer/Tony Clifton Circus

2 young women capable of hiding in a car boot for 15 mins and then perform a quick run across the stage. 1 older lady to hide in a car boot for 15 mins and then walk across the stage.

1 pizza delivery boy.

Must be available for both Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019


Back stage support

Being around the HQ marquee, supporting artists in various ways such as giving them directions.


Catering

To take care of the catering and bar area making sure it’s clean and tidy for up to 150 people.


Festival runner

To be on hand throughout the festival for all the last minute jobs.


Stage management support/stewarding

Managing and guiding crowds before and during performances, supporting walk about acts across the town, guarding pitches during performance breaks, assisting companies during performances.


Customer service

Info Point: selling merchandise giving general info about the festival, communicating performance cancellations and possibly liaising with security if there are lost children.


Marketing

Handing out leaflets, promoting the festival, selling merchandise, such as balloons and T-shirts on a stall, cash handling.


Fundraising

Going out to people or a crowd asking for donations.


All Volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
